The body of Alexander Holden was found over the weekend at Mile Marker 3 of the American River Bike Trail near Highway 160 on Sunday, Jan. 26.
Officers responded to a report of a body near the bike trail at about 3 p.m. A death investigation was initiated and there were no signs of foul play.
A preliminary investigation found Holden’s identification and that the body wore clothing that matched which Holden was wearing when he disappeared, according to family interviews.
The investigation was turned over to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
Holden was last seen in the early morning hours of Dec. 31, 2019 in the down Sacramento area. He was believed to be on foot, heading to the Natomas area of north Sacramento.
Holden is 6’2” tall, 190 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing a tan pullover, long sleeve shirt.
