The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Natomas has increased 45% since last week.
According to data released by Sacramento County health officials today, the number of confirmed cases within zip codes 95833, 95834 and 95835 is now 52. That’s up from 29 confirmed cases for the same zip codes reported on April 7.
The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases reflects about .04% of the population within all three zip codes combined. This figure is based on the estimated 110,000 people who reside within Natomas, according to data on the U.S. Census Bureau website.
The figures released today reflect a steady rise in confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in Sacramento County where testing has also become more readily available. The data does not reflect those suspected as having COVID-19, but who have not been tested.
The cases break down in Natomas is as follows:
- Zip 95833 21 cases
- Zip 95834 12 cases
- Zip 95835 19 cases
The number of confirmed cases in the 95833 zip code nearly tripled up from eight on April 7 to 21 today, April 13.
Countywide there have been 739 confirmed COVID-19 cases; 423 of which are within the Sacramento city limits which includes zip codes 95833, 95834 and 95835. Zip codes of residence may not be determined for all cases at the time of mapping, according to the county.
Sacramento County health officials report there have been 27 deaths attributed to COVID-19, 14 of which are within the city. Those who have died were 65 years and older and/or had underlying conditions, according to the county.
The county also released a breakdown of confirmed COVID-19 cases by age, gender and ethnicity today.
According to the data, more than 32% of the cases are among those ages 65+, more than 42% are ages 18-49, and nearly 25% are 50-64 years old. Just over 1% of confirmed COVID-19 cases are ages 0-17.
Of those with confirmed COVID-19, nearly 54% are female and more than 46% are male.
Among those with known ethnicity data, nearly 56% of confirmed COVID-19 patients in Sacramento County identified themselves as being Caucasian. About 15% of patients identified as other or more than one race, about 10% are Asian, 9.5% are African American and just over 9% are Hispanic patients.
