Work is wrapping up to convert the old arena in Natomas into a surge hospital.
The former basketball arena is being transformed into the Kings Alternative Care Facility. It will serve as one of eight federal medical stations operating or being set up across California.
The Kings training facility is being readied to care for COVID-19 patients while the former arena to house patients suspected of having the virus.
A ventilation system has been installed as well as partitions and up to 400 beds to fight COVID-19 and relieve pressure on the health care delivery system.
