Curbside pickup of library materials will be available at both Sacramento Public Library branches in Natomas starting on Thursday.
The Sacramento Public Library launched curbside pick up at select locations in mid-May, two months after all branches were closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Curbside pickup started with two branches and has expanded in phases.
Effective June 11, the Sacramento Public Library will offer scheduled curbside pickup of library materials on hold at 13 locations including the South Natomas and North Natomas branches. Patrons may also return materials to these locations during hours of operation.
Sacramento Public Library patrons who have an item on hold at either the South Natomas or North Natomas branches will be notified by email or phone when their item is available for pickup. Upon notification, the patron will schedule a pickup time using the library’s meeting room reservation platform.
At scheduled pickup time, the patron will park curbside, and retrieve their items at the designated curbside pickup area at the branch. Items will be checked-out to patrons in advance and staged in a bag.
Material picked up curbside will be checked out to patrons for six weeks and overdue fines will not apply to these materials.
Library branches will be employing physical distancing and public health recommendations operations for employees and patrons. This includes placing all returned items in quarantine for 72 hours as well as providing items in a bag for curbside pick-up to reduce contact.
To place a hold on library materials, patrons can log in to the Sacramento Public Library website using their library card account.
