Aerial spraying for mosquitoes has been scheduled for rice fields north of Natomas on Sunday night.
The Sacramento-Yolo Mosquito and Vector Control District today reported more mosquito samples have tested positive for West Nile virus in Natomas.
The positive test results have prompted agency officials to schedule aerial spraying for 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. starting Sunday, August 17.
“While the rice fields are being targeted, the plane may fly over homes,” read a notice issued Friday afternoon by the Sacramento-Yolo Mosquito and Vector Control District.
The area being targeted are rice fields located north of Elkhorn Boulevard, including zip codes 95626, 95673, 95835, 95836 and 95837.
