A bomb threat earlier today at the Walmart in Natomas was unfounded, according to Sacramento Police.

At about 11:40 a.m. officers responded to a report that someone called Walmart claiming there was an explosive device at the Truxel Road store.

“Police investigated,” police spokesperson Officer Doug Morse said. “The report was unfounded.”

The incident – being called a hoax – lasted about 20 minutes, according to store officials.

Said store general manager Franklin Jackson, “Police responded quickly.”

Earlier, shoppers arriving in the Walmart parking lot were told the store was being evacuated and closed due to a bomb threat.
