Caltrans has reopened two major off-ramps on Interstate 80 in Natomas and North Sacramento after two weeks of construction.
The eastbound I-80 exit to Truxel Road and westbound I-80 off-ramp to Norwood Avenue are now open to traffic. The ramps were scheduled to open later in the week.
According to Caltrans, crew will be completing work on eastbound I-80 and concentrating fully on construction activity on the westbound segment between Watt Avenue and the Sacramento River in the coming weeks.
The work is part of the $133.3 million I-80 “Across the Top” project that will construct about 10 miles of bus/carpool lanes in both directions, repave the highway from east of the Sacramento River Bridge to Watt Avenue and add about one mile of new auxiliary lanes form West El Camino Avenue to the Interstate 80/Interstate 5 interchange.
