Two Discovery High School students cooked up a winning meal at the Egg Stravaganza this past fall.
Culinary ROP students Joel Leesha and Gustavo Noriega competed on Oct. 22, 2015 against three other school districts.
“Joel and Gustavo did a great job in a very high-pressure competition,” culinary teacher Michael Mitchell said. “Competitors had 45 minutes to create four plates for the judges, working from a ‘mystery basket’ of ingredients; only unveiled once the timer began.”
The students’ win earned a $500 check made out to Discovery High School’s culinary program.
