Mimi’s Cafe in Natomas will close its doors permanently later this month.
THE NATOMAS BUZZ has confirmed the French-inspired, sit-down eatery located at 3511 North Freeway Boulevard, in the Promenade shopping center, is set to shutter at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 20.
News of the closure came down just this past week. Workers have told patrons that the restaurant’s lease was being increased significantly.
However, Sacramento County Assessor records show that SWH Corp, owners of the Mimi’s Cafe chain of restaurants, owned – not leased – the building on North Freeway Boulevard in Sacramento since 2005. Records show the building was sold to 3511 North Freeway Partners LLC in September.
Staff have reportedly been offered the opportunity to work in other locations in the greater-Sacramento area.
Several Mimi’s Cafe restaurants have shuttered over the past year. Eateries in in the Arden area, Elk Grove, Folsom and Roseville currently remain in the greater Sacramento area.
Thanks for the tip, D.B.!
GreedHead LandLords!!! Here’s to you NOT making money in your EMPTY SHELL of a building!!!
READ the article moron, the company owned the building so the landlord is itself moron!
Unbelievable. There are so many empty stores etc in every area of Sacramento for this same reason, rents too high. Drives businesses out, and imports more crime! I see this center slowing being emptied, one store at a time, until it’s gone.. Guess it’s a great write off for the owners! Piece of crap, greedy peeps
READ the article nimrod. The company that owned the store owned the building! there was no landlord!
