Two people are being treated for burn injuries after a a fire broke out in a homeless encampment this morning in Natomas.
The incident occurred at about 7 a.m. on Jan. 16 near San Juan Road and Zenobia Way. Two people were injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment, according to the Sacramento Fire Dept.
The fire in the encampment spread and cause a small grass fire which was quickly extinguished.
The cause of the fire was under investigation, fire officials reported via Twitter. The cause of the incident will be determined once the investigation is completed.
According to news reports, a man in the camp reportedly used an accelerant to start a fire and it quickly spread injuring himself and his female companion.
