A Natomas High School student who exhibited potential symptoms has tested negative for COVID-19.
“Good news to report. The test came back for our NHS student as NEGATIVE,” Superintendent Chris Evans wrote in a message to Natomas Unified School District staff this morning, thanking them for their professionalism. “As of today, still no known cases of Coronavirus at NHS.”
A student at NP3 Elementary School who exhibited some symptoms was also being tested for the virus. Evans said he anticipated the results for that student sometime this weekend.
Reports that at least one Natomas High student came to school exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 prompted district officials to close all its schools on Friday, March 13.
Natomas Unified has since joined 12 other Sacramento County districts which will all be closed for up to three weeks. The district currently plans to reopen its campuses on Monday, April 6.
