Sac PD yesterday released surveillance photos of suspects wanted in the series of purse snatchings this month at Raley’s on Natomas Boulevard. A story aired by Fox 40 last night reported Raley’s officials would not comment, but police are asking anyone with information on the identities of those pictured above call (916) 443-HELP.
In the store this morning, THE BUZZ polled a handful of employees and was told by some the media reports were the first time they had even heard about the crimes. All the Raley’s employees we spoke to said store management has not issued any warnings to its employees or given them any direction on how to help protect customers. Needless to say, every woman we saw in the store today was holding their purses close!

I can’t believe that Raley’s is NOT informing their own employee’s about this!!! That is terrible…
If these guys are in school, some of their classmates HAVE to recognize them from the pics. Do the right thing and turn them in.

The moral of the story is that we need to remember not to leave our purses unattended in the shopping carts. I doubt that this is the first time this has happened at Raley’s but it’s probably the first time they got a good look at these dopes on video more than once so they can share it with the media. I agree the employees should be aware of the incident, but I’m not sure what Raley’s employees should do to stop a thief running out of the store. There is nothing in my purse that is worth a Raley’s employee getting hurt over. If you want security at the doors you should shop at Safeway!
Employees should be aware of what is going on in their store and these photos posted somewhere as a BOTLO (be on the lookout) that way, if one of the suspects enters to store, employees have the option of contacting store security.
Also, it’s would be good for employees to get a reminder on what kinds of details to remember when witnessing a crime in progress.
And, finally, there are plenty of employees wandering the store asking whether they can help customer find things, and what their weekend plans are… Perhaps this energy could be used reminding customers who do walk away from their purses to keep them close.
Just a thought.
Jackets with hoods in 80-90-100 degree weather are a big tip off. Can we assume the pictures have been sent to the Jr and High schools? Who was truant on those days? BAS
