Updated vote tallies confirm candidate Scott Dosick has won the Trustee Area 4 seat in the Natomas Unified School District special election.
The former school board member won the six-way race by 26 votes, according to final ballot counts posted Friday, Nov. 17 for the Natomas Unified School District special election.
There are no ballots left to process, according to Sacramento County Elections.
“I look forward to getting back to work for all of our students, families, staff, and schools,” said Dosick, who previously served on the Natomas school board from 2012 to 2020.
The latest counts posted online show 22.39% of those eligible to vote in the special election cast votes. Of those, 561 or 25.78% were for Dosick, followed by 535 votes or 24.59% for candidate Amir Khan and 532 votes or 24.45% for candidate Brenda Borge. Candidate Monique Hokman finished with 396 votes or 18.20%, candidate Krystal King with 144 votes or 6.62%, and Shahzad “Shawn” Anwar with 8 votes or .37%.
“I think it’s great for Natomas that so many people were interested in running for a seat on the school board,” said Dosick. “A desire to serve should always be applauded.”
The six candidates filed to run for the school district’s Trustee Area 4 seat when a special election was order to fill the seat when Cindy Quiralte resigned less than five months into a four-year term. Quiralte had been elected to the seat in 2022.
