…for the evil people who keep burning down Sacramento-area playgrounds.
For the second time in two years, the community-built Fort Natomas has been burned to the ground.
The playground is located at Jefferson Park in South Natomas. The fire started around 1 a.m. and completely destroyed all the play structures, according to online news reports.
The park was built in 1991 and burned down in June of 2006. The community rebuilt it again shortly there after.
According to News10.Net, many community members including Councilman Ray Tretheway were on scene of this latest fire.
Playgrounds are not just toys for our children to play on, but they represent community spirit and Fort Natomas is no exception.
Shame on the arsonists for trying to put good people down.
This is devastating… Before I sat down at the computer just now I said to the kids, “Hey, do you guys want to go to the Wood Park this morning?” My friend and I planned last night to grab coffee and let the kids run around their favorite park… now I have to explain to them that once again, a very mean person has decided it would be fun to burn it down. It’s really disheartening to know that there are people out there that get such a thrill out of creating such heartbreak for others…
We will rebuild again (maybe we’ll have to use steel instead) and the children not the arsonists will be the victors.
I vote for a long, s-l-o-w, roast in Hell.
