From Capt. Jeff Schiele, of the Sacramento Police Department’s north command: “This information is provided so you can have a timely snapshot of significant events in the Natomas community. “
The crimes listed here are preliminary investigations, taken in the field by patrol officers, and may or may not be assigned to a detective for further investigation:
- 1-23-08, 1841 hours, Armed Robbery, Discount Cigarettes, 2345 Northgate. Two MB30s robbed the store taking cash and the employee’s wallet. One suspect was armed with a handgun, the second with a knife. Suspects fled in an unknown direction.
- 1-23-08, Residential Burglary 3300 block of Bridgeford Drive. The victim was at home and heard his doorbell ring. He looked through the peephole, saw a subject, but decided not to answer door. The victim saw the subject walk around to the backyard and climb into the house through a doggie door. The Victim confronted the suspect who subsequently ran off. Officers arrived quickly and established a perimeter around the neighborhood. After a lengthy search the suspect was located and arrested. Subsequent investigation resulted in the suspect being charged with six (6) additional counts of burglary from the same neighborhood.
- 1-23-08, Residential Burglary, Forcallat Court. The victim came home to her residence and saw four (4) male Hispanics exiting the front door carrying her stereo equipment. One of the suspects had a crow bar and threatened to strike her if she didn’t move back. They got into a white 4-door Sedan with out of state plates and fled. The suspects gained entry into the house by kicking the front door. Officers were unable to locate the suspect vehicle in the neighborhood.
