The wind blew and blew and two of our fences fell down. Now I know how the Three Little Pigs felt about that big bad wolf.

All our trees survived, but living at the end of the court, our front yard has become ground zero for the trash that blew out of our neighbors’ garbage cans and recycling bins – it just HAD to be garbage day!

With more rain in the forecast, here is some helpful information sent out by Councilmember Tretheway’s office:

Localized street flooding, downed trees or branches in the roadway, call 264-5011 (trees on private property are owners responsibility)

When to call:
• Roadway is blocked- cannot pass through
• Localized flooding
• Down power lines
• Gutters/streets flooded making it unsafe to pass or clear

What residents can do:
• Clear debris from gutters and downspouts
• Drive safely and slowly
• Keep clear of downed powerlines
• Monitor local weather forecasts
• Tie down or properly store outdoor refuse cans, lawn equipment, decorations
• Inventory or create emergency preparedness kits
• Do not remove manhole covers
• Pet owners check to be sure pets are secure and safe
