Inderkum High’s Key Club weeded and trimmed greenery around the North Natomas Regional Park dog park on March 17.
“Students have committed to helping maintain the area around there, and along the north/south bike path at the regional park, on a monthly basis,” District 1 parks liaison Elena Quintero said. “Their advisor, Cheryl Archer, is very proud of their commitment to serving their community.”
Students learned quickly how to use tools with the help from Larry Carter, a City of Sacramento Parks Maintenance employee (pictured to the right).
Added Quintero, “District One is very lucky to have such dedication by the youth of our community.”
Key Club is the oldest and largest service program for high school students. It is a student-led organization that teaches leadership through service to others.
Key Club has approximately 260,000 members in approximately 5,000 clubs. Key Club is represented in 30 countries.
