Area residents joined a 10-person crew from Americorps to help beautify a Natomas community garden Saturday as part of National Make A Difference Day.
The newer Sparrow Community Garden – located where Sparrow Drive and Caneros Creek meet Natomas Crossing Drive in the Witter Ranch neighborhood – features 12 garden plots, two ADA-compliant plots and a common picnic area.
The garden is operated by the city’s Parks and Recreation Department. To find out more, contact community garden coordinator Bill Maynard at (916) 808-4943 or by e-mail.
