Definition Of A Hero: Little Julian

THE NATOMAS BUZZ | @natomasbuzz
Natomas residents are raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in honor of 3-year-old neighbor Julian Esparza.

It’s been a year since Julian was first diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and treatment is ongoing for this little boy with a big smile.

“Julian’s Lovely Ladies” will host a charity bunco game 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. tomorrow, Oct. 20 at Oshima Sushi, 2071 Natomas Crossing Drive, in Natomas.

The bunco night is just one of the ways the team is fundraising for the one-mile Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk this weekend. Cost to play bunco is $20 per person (does not include food or drinks). The event will include prizes and raffles to bid on.

“Hero” t-shirts will be available for sale at the bunco fundraiser, in adult and children’s sizes, $10 each. Shirts can also be ordered by e-mailing [email protected].

Julian’s Lovely Ladies has also teamed up with SILVER ICING Hand Stamped Jewelry to create a limited-edition necklace “The Julian.” The necklace can be personalized with a choice of a hand-stamped initial and Swarovski crystal. Proceeds from sales of the necklace will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society walk in Julian’s name. Cost is $38; order by emailing [email protected].

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Light The Night Walk takes place is 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 at the west steps of the state capitol building.
