The public has a chance Tuesday afternoon to speak out on how Sacramento County’s five supervisorial districts should be reshaped.
The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors will review a report containing redistricting proposals and public input collected over the past few months during a public hearing. They will also consider additional public testimony before they approve a final plan as the basis for an ordinance that legally describes the new districts.
When: July 26 at 2:15 p.m.
Where: County Administration Center, Board of Supervisors Chambers, 700 H Street
“Comments and proposals collected during these workshops and those submitted online are included in the Redistricting Report,” Registrar of Voters Jill LaVine said.
The redistricting process is required after each federal census to make the districts as equal in population as possible. In California, county supervisors have the final say.
More than 30 community workshops were held between April 5 and June 15 to gather public input on the draft plans, said Registrar of Voters Jill LaVine.
