The Witter Ranch Community Alliance will join members of Sacramento’s all-volunteer Drowning Accident Rescue Team raise money by selling hot dogs today in Natomas.
The fundraiser is set for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in front of Bel Air Supermarkets on Arena Boulevard. Water safety information and tours of the D.A.R.T. ambulance will be available.
Money raised will help buy a portable device used to detect natural gas and other explosive and dangerous compounds for a Natomas-area fire station as well as equipment to assist police officers in field investigations. Last weekend, the neighborhood group and volunteer unit held a community yard sale at which raised near $700.
The Drowning Accident Rescue Team is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization which is funded by donations, grants and fundraising events. The team’s primary mission is to save lives and recover property from the various rivers, lakes and waterways in and around Sacramento County.
