21-374379 (Burglary – Arrest): 2300 Block of Northgate Boulevard at 0004 hours.
Officers responded to a burglary alarm at a business. Prior to arrival, officers were able to obtain a description of the suspect vehicle. Upon arrival in the area, officers located the suspect vehicle and conducted an enforcement stop. Officers safely detained four suspects in the vehicle. During the investigation burglary tools and stolen property were recovered. All four suspects were arrested for theft and burglary related charges.

21-375086 (Suspicious Vehicle – Gun Arrest): 3300 Block of Northgate Boulevard at 1914 hours.
Officers made contact with the occupant of a suspicious parked vehicle. During the investigation, officers located an illegally possessed, stolen handgun. The suspect was safely arrested for related charges.

21-374861 (Carjacking – Arrest): Pell Circle / Pell Drive at 1503 hours.
Officers responded to the report of a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, officers located the victim’s stolen vehicle being driven by the suspect. The suspect was safely detained and later arrested for related charges.

Officers responded to the report of a robbery. The suspects assaulted and stole money from the victim. The victim did not sustain any injuries. Officers responded and conducted an extensive canvass of the area. A crime report was generated.

Officers responded to a report of a robbery. The suspect had assaulted and taken personal property from the victim. The victim sustained minor injuries. Officers conducted an extensive search of the area during which, they located and safely arrested the suspect.

21-370808 (Stolen Vehicle – Arrest): W El Camino / Truxel Road at 1315 hours.
Officers located an occupied stolen vehicle and safely arrested the driver for related charges.

21-371212 (Robbery – Investigation): 1800 Block of Garden Highway at 2133 hours.
Officers responded to the report of an armed robbery. The suspects were armed with a handgun and physically assaulted the victim, causing minor injury. A crime report was generated.

Officers responded to a report of a robbery. The suspect received services from a business and refused to pay. The suspect then assaulted the victim and then fled the area. Mental Health Crisis) 2500 Block of Millcreek Dr.
Officers responded to a report of a subject in a residence who was armed with a knife and threatening to harm himself and other people. Officers were able to safely contact the subject from outside the residence. The subject eventually exited the residence unarmed and officers were able to safely detain him. The subject was transported to a hospital for mental health treatment.

Officers responded to a report of a minor collision between two vehicles. Uninvolved acquaintances of one party arrived to the scene and used derogatory language during a disturbance that occurred. Officers completed a collision investigation and documented the incident in a bias incident report.

21-354318 (Vehicle Pursuit – Arrest): W El Camino Ave / Normington Dr at 1804 hours.
Officers attempted to conduct an enforcement stop on a vehicle. The vehicle fled and led officers on a pursuit. The pursuit was discontinued, and the suspect vehicle was monitored with assistance from a police helicopter. The suspect vehicle eventually became disabled in the City of Davis, and the driver was safely detained by police. During the investigation, a firearm was located. The driver was arrested for pursuit and weapons violations.

(Search Warrant and Gun Arrest) 2000 Block of W El Camino Ave.
A search warrant was served related to a shooting. Two firearms were located during the search warrant service. Two suspects were arrested for shooting and weapons charges.

Officers responded to a report of several parked vehicles that appeared to have been broken into. Officers located approximately 9 vehicles that had their windows broken. Officers generated a crime report and a canvass of the area. The investigation remains ongoing.

21-353420 (Assault – Investigation): 3200 block of Truxel Road at 2047 hours.
Officers responded to a report of an assault. A suspect assaulted a security guard and fled the area. The security guard sustained had minor injuries from the assault and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Officers generated a crime report.

21-351431 (Vehicle Burglary – Investigation): 4100 Block of Innovator Dr at 2318 hours.
Officers responded to a report of suspects breaking into vehicles. Officers checked the area but were not able to locate the suspects. In total, 12 vehicles were burglarized. Officers canvassed the area for evidence and witnesses. A crime report was generated.

21-349919 (Brandishing – Citation): 3800 Block of Truxel Rd at 1155 hours.
Officers responded to a report of a subject who brandished a firearm to the victim after a disturbance on the roadway. Officers located the suspect vehicle and conducted an enforcement stop. The suspect was issued a citation for brandishing.

Sideshow Enforcement
Officers continued their efforts to provide directed enforcement related to sideshow activity in Sacramento at an event that occurred in the northern Natomas area. Officers were able to arrest an event organizer for active warrants related to previous sideshows as well as fresh charges for the evening’s activities. Throughout the night, officers towed 14 cars, issued 20 misdemeanor citations, and issued 15 infraction citations.

Officers responded for a stolen horse trailer that had been located. Officers recovered the trailer and conducted an investigation into the incident. Officers identified the suspect and later located him. The suspect was arrested on charges related to possessing stolen property.

21-342153 (Collision – Investigation): San Juan Road and Zenobia Way at 2216 hours.
Officers responded to a report of a vehicle vs motorcycle collision. The motorcyclist sustained moderate, non-life-threatening, injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Officers generated a collision report.

21-341166 (Vehicle Pursuit – Citation): W El Camino Ave / Erin Dr at 1911 hours.
Officers attempted to conduct an enforcement stop on a vehicle. The vehicle fled and led officers on a short pursuit. The suspect vehicle eventually came to a stop and the occupants were safely detained. The driver was issued a citation for evading.

(Mental Health Crisis> 600 Block of W El Camino Ave.
Officers responded to a report of a subject who called police dispatch to report that he wanted to commit “suicide by cop”. Officers began to safely contact the subject who recognized an officer from a previous contact. The subject’s previous relationship with the officer helped the officer in their crisis intervention which resulted in the subject surrendering peacefully. The subject was then transported to a hospital for mental health treatment.

21-339802 (Stolen Vehicle – Arrest): Advantage Court at 0703 hours.
Officers conducted a follow-up investigation after a U-Haul truck was stolen from a hotel parking lot overnight. During the investigation officers were notified of a possible location of a suspect vehicle that was involved in the incident. Officers located the vehicle and detained the driver. After further follow-up officers were able to locate the stolen U-Haul truck with much of the victim’s belongings still inside. Officer also detained another suspect in the area of the stolen U-Haul truck. Both suspects were arrested for conspiracy and theft related charges.

21-339589 (Collision/DUI – Arrest): 4600 block of Natomas Boulevard at 2251 hours.
Officers responded to a single vehicle roll-over collision. The driver was located on scene with minor injuries. The driver appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and officers completed a DUI investigation. The driver was ultimately arrested on DUI charges.

21-337470 (Foot Pursuit – Arrest): 1500 block of West El Camino Avenue at 1629 hours.
Officers attempted to contact a subject who was known to be on probation. The suspect immediately fled from officers on foot. Officers pursued on foot and were able to take the suspect safely into custody. The suspect was arrested for charges related to the foot pursuit.

21-336075 (Collision – Investigation): North Cove Drive and West El Camino Avenue at 0907 hours.
Officers responded to a report of a vehicle collision involving a tractor and a pedestrian that occurred on a job site. The tractor struck another employee causing moderate, but non-life-threatening, injuries. The employee was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Officers generated a collision report.

21-336235 (Felony Assault – Arrest): 1000 block of Edmonton Drive at 1202 hours.
Officers responded to a report of a stabbing. Officers arrived and located an adult male who had been stabbed. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive the injury. Officers also located a suspect in the area. Officers conducted an investigation into the incident and arrested the suspect for felony assault charges.

21-335684 (Assault – Arrest): 3700 block of Truxel Road at 1955 hours.
Officers responded to a report of an assault where the suspect threatened the victim with a hammer after an argument. Officers attempted to contact the suspect in the area who fled on foot. The suspect was detained after a short foot pursuit and arrested.

21-332344 (Assault – Investigation): 4200 Block of E Commerce Way at 1520 hours.
Officers responded to a report of an assault. The suspect touched the victim inappropriately and then left the area. Officers located the suspect, and the suspect was issued a citation for sexual battery.

21-331239 (Traffic Stop – Gun Arrest): Truxel Rd / W El Camino Ave at 1637 hours.
Officers conducted an enforcement stop on a vehicle. During the investigation, a firearm and marijuana were located. The driver was arrested for marijuana and weapons violations.

21-326581 (Vehicle Collision): Garden Hwy / Gateway Oaks Dr at 0111 hours.
Officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision. The involved vehicle struck a pole. The driver sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Officers conducted a collision investigation that will be documented in a report.

21-325964 (Assault – Investigation): 2800 Block of Del Paso Rd at 1314 hours.
Around 1:15 p.m. yesterday afternoon, officers responded to the 2800 block of Del Paso Rd regarding an assault that was reported at a business. Two victims and one suspect were involved in an argument in a parking lot after a near-collision. During the argument, derogatory remarks were exchanged. The subjects separated but became involved in another altercation inside the business. The suspect physically assaulted one victim resulting in minor injuries to that victim. The suspect then fled the area after the altercation. The incident is being investigated as a possible bias-related crime and has been forwarded to detectives who will be conducting follow-up. The investigation remains active and there is no suspect information to release at this time. Anybody with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the police department.

21-326224 (Robbery – Investigation): 2800 Block of Del Paso Rd at 1728 hours.
Just before 5:30 p.m. yesterday, officers responded to a report of a robbery at a bank in the 2800 block of Del Paso Rd. The suspect, who was possibly armed with a firearm, demanded money from a bank employee. Officers located the suspect vehicle which fled and led officers on a vehicle pursuit. The pursuit was discontinued but officers searched the area located the vehicle unoccupied near a field in Yolo County. Officers established a perimeter with assistance from outside agencies. While searching the area, officers located one suspect who was taken into custody with assistance from a Sacramento Police Department K9. The suspect received treatment for minor injuries sustained during the K9 apprehension and was later booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for charges related to the robbery.One suspect is believed to be outstanding. The investigation remains active and anybody with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the police department.

Officers responded to a report of a vehicle collision involving two vehicles. After the collision, the occupants of one vehicle assaulted the driver of the other vehicle and then fled the area. The other driver sustained minor injuries. A crime report was generated.

21-323944 (Robbery – Investigation): 3200 Block of Arena Blvd at 1356 hours.
Officers responded to a report of a robbery a bank. The suspect, who was possibly armed with a firearm, demanded money from a bank employee. The suspect was able to steal a quantity of money and was last seen fleeing the area on foot. No injuries were reported during this incident. Officers checked the area but were not able to locate the suspect. Officers conducted a thorough canvass of the area for evidence and witnesses. The incident will be forwarded to detectives who will be following up. The investigation is in its early stages and there is no suspect information to release at this time.

Officers located one adult male in a vehicle who had been shot. He was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive. The investigation is active and the circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting. At the scene, officers located one victim with serious but non-life-threatening gunshot injuries. The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment. A short time later, a second victim self-transported to a hospital also with non-life-threatening gunshot injuries. Officers canvassed the area for evidence and witnesses. A crime report was generated.

November 1, 2021

100 Block of Opus Circle at 1410 hours.
At approximately 1:25 p.m. officers responded to the 1500 block of Del Paso Blvd for a robbery. The suspect passed a note to a bank teller and demanded money. The suspect then fled the area on foot and was not able to get any money. Officers conducted an investigation and were able to locate the suspect in the area of Opus Circle and Stemmler Drive. The suspect fled from officers on foot and into a residence that was known to the suspect. The suspect surrendered to officers shortly after. The suspect was arrested on attempted robbery charges and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail. Schools in the Witter Ranch neighborhood of Natomas were temporarily placed on lockdown during the incident.

21-311945 (Fatal Vehicle Collision): 300 Block of Alcantar Cir at 0003 hours.
Officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision in which a vehicle left the roadway and struck a retaining wall. The driver of the vehicle was transported to a hospital and was later pronounced deceased. The passenger sustained minor injuries. The preliminary investigation yielded information that the driver possibly experienced a medical emergency just prior to the collision. Officers conducted a collision investigation and the incident will be documented in a report.

21-311064 (Subject Stop – Arrest): W El Camino Ave / Azevedo Dr at 1036 hours.
Officers attempted to conduct an enforcement stop on a bicyclist. The bicyclist refused to stop and officers then attempted to detain the bicyclist, who physically resisted. Eventually officers were able to detain the bicyclist who was then arrested for resisting officers.

Officers responded to the area after a victim reported that he had been shot at while in his vehicle. The victim sustained a non-life-threatening injury from the shooting. Officers determined that the shooting occurred in the area of West El Camino Avenue and American Avenue. Officers conducted a canvass of the area and generated a crime report. Just after 10 p.m., officers responded to the area of Club Center Dr and Natomas Blvd regarding a report of a single-vehicle collision. No other vehicles were reported to be involved. Two occupants from the vehicle were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. The cause of the collision remains under investigation and we cannot confirm any vehicle code violations at this time.

The Sacramento Police Department, along with allied outside agencies, responded to reports of sideshow activity that moved throughout the night between the city and the county. Officers conducted enforcement stops when safe to do so, which resulted in at least one vehicle being towed and three vehicle pursuits. All three drivers were safely detained and arrested for pursuit and reckless driving charges.

Officers responded to a report that a suspect had stolen a vehicle while it was left running in a garage. The victim attempted to stop the suspect as he was backing out of the driveway and the victim sustained multiple abrasions after the suspect continued to drive away with the vehicle. The victim’s vehicle was located a few blocks away unoccupied. The victim was treated by fire personnel for her injuries. Officers conducted a canvass of the area for potential witnesses and CSI responded to process the scene for evidence. The incident has been forwarded to detectives and the investigation remains ongoing.

Officers conducted an enforcement stop on a vehicle. Officers attempted to detain the occupant who assaulted one officer and then fled on foot. A less lethal option was used but was not effective. Officers were eventually able to take the suspect into custody. The suspect was found to be in possession of narcotics and was arrested for resisting officers and narcotics charges.

Officers attempted to contact a subject on probation, and known to them, in the area of Northview Drive and Haggin Avenue. The subject entered the backseat of a vehicle occupied by two other associates and the driver fled, leading officers on a vehicle pursuit. The driver drove to the dead end of Pebblewood Drive where the suspect vehicle eventually came to a stop and all three occupants fled on foot near the bike trail. The subject on probation, and a female were quickly detained. The third subject continued to flee and hid in a nearby shed. Officers developed information that the outstanding subject may be in possession of a firearm. Officers established a perimeter and searched the area with assistance from the SWAT team and unmanned aerial systems. The subject was safely detained. During the investigation officers located narcotics but no firearm was recovered. All three subjects were arrested on narcotics and evading related charges.

The subject eventually came down on his own and was voluntarily transported to a hospital for treatment for possible mental health-related symptoms.

Officers observed a vehicle driving in the wrong direction of the road. Officers attempted an enforcement stop on the vehicle and the driver immediately fled from officers at a high rate of speed. Officers discontinued the pursuit and a police aircraft continued to monitor the suspect vehicle until it was involved in a solo vehicle collision and became disabled. The suspect was detained and sustained minor injury from the collision. Officers conducted a DUI investigation and the suspect was arrested.

21-187850 (Robbery – Arrest): 1500 and 1600 block of West El Camino Avenue at 1150 hours.
Officers responded to a report of a robbery at two separate check cashing businesses along West El Camino Avenue. Both businesses reported that a male suspect walked into the business, threatened employees, and demanded money. The suspect also mentioned that he was in possession of an explosive device. The suspect fled one of the businesses without obtaining any money. The suspect was able to obtain a small amount of cash from the other businesses and he fled in a vehicle. There were no injuries reported. Officers conducted a follow-up investigation and were able to locate a possible suspect who was staying at a motel along Richards Boulevard and Jibboom Street. After setting up a perimeter the suspect was safely detained. Detectives responded and were able to identify the man detained as the suspect in both incidents. The suspect, an adult male, was arrested on robbery related charges. Investigators did not locate any explosive material during the investigation.

Officers responded to a report of a collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle. The motorcyclist, an adult male, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital where he was later declared deceased. The other involved party was contacted by officers at the scene. Due to the severity of the injuries, the Sacramento Police Department Major Collision Investigation Unit responded to take over the investigation.

Rollover Accident on Interstate 5

A rollover accident on Interstate 5  just before 3 p.m. on June 6 was caused when a driver nodded off at the wheel, according to the California Highway Patrol. A 34-year-old woman from Bell, Calif. was driving a Scion xA northbound when she nodded off at the wheel and sideswiped a big rig. As a result, the vehicle rolled over several times and off the right-hand side of the roadway, a CHP spokesperson said. The driver and two  passengers sustained injuries and were transported to local hospitals.

Officers attempted to conduct an enforcement stop on a subject known to have a felony warrant. The subject fled on foot and was apprehended with assistance from a police K9. The subject was found to be in possession of a firearm and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Follow-up investigation led officers to conduct an enforcement stop on an occupied vehicle. During the stop of the vehicle, a second firearm was located. The two subjects were arrested for weapons related charges.

Officers responded to a report of a disturbance between two parties involving a dispute over a blocked sidewalk. A mother was pushing her child in a stroller. When the mother asked two unhoused subjects to move their property so that she could pass, one subject kicked the stroller with the child inside. There were no reported injuries. Officers arrested one subject for charges related to the assault and also arrested a second subject from the suspect party for felony warrants.

Officers spotted a vehicle used in a recent armed robbery of a gas station in District 1.   A felony stop was conducted and the driver was detained without incident.  The driver had a felony warrant and a loaded 9mm handgun was located in the vehicle.  The Neighborhood Crimes Unit took over the investigation.  Ultimately, two suspects were arrested for the robbery.

A suspect has been arrested on suspicion of starting a fire inside Walmart in Natomas. On Feb. 28, 2021 at about 2:45 p.m. the Sacramento Fire Department responded to a commercial structure fire inside of Walmart located on the 3600 block of Truxel Raod. The fire occurred during normal business hours and involved a men’s clothing display rack. The fire was extinguished by store employees with a fire extinguisher and confined to the clothing display rack. Sacramento Fire Department Arson/Fire Investigators were dispatched to the scene and conducted a fire investigation. The investigators concluded the fire was deliberately set. The entire event was captured by the store’s surveillance video system. An unidentified male subject was seen applying an aerosol combustible material to clothing hanging on the display rack and discharging a firework to ignite the clothing. Evidence of the combustible material and the discharged firework were collected at the scene. Surveillance video also captured the vehicle used by the subject to flee the scene. Investigators initiated a criminal investigation. Working in conjunction with the Sacramento Police Department Neighborhood Crimes Unit, investigators used facial recognition software to analyze images captured from the surveillance video and other investigative means to identify 29-year-old Israel Huusfeldt as the person depicted in the video setting the fire. They were also able to link Huusfeldt to a vehicle matching the description of the fleeing vehicle captured by surveillance video. Investigators were unsuccessful in their efforts to locate and apprehend Huusfeldt due to his transitory nature. On March 30, 2021 Huusfeldt was detained by a CHP officer on a routine traffic stop in Placer County. Investigators were advised of the stop, responded to the scene, and arrested Huusfeldt with the assistance of the Sacramento Police Department. Huusfeldt was charged with arson of property and possession of a flammable, explosive, or combustible material.Huusfeldt is being held in Sacramento County Jail; he is ineligible for bail.

Complainant called in reporting that someone was inside her house. She was locked in the master bathroom with her 2 year old daughter. She confirmed no one else should be at the house. She stated that she found the back door unlocked earlier in the evening. She could now hear “walking around and movement” as well as footsteps. She also reported hearing someone opening doors in the house. At one point, she was trying to be quiet and seemed afraid to answer the call taker’s questions. Officers arrived on scene and set up on the house. It appeared to be locked up and dark inside. Based on the circumstances, Officers forced entry and began to clear the house. Officers heard some mechanical noises in the kitchen and Ofc. Paez who was posted at the rear of the house was able to get a glimpse of the culprit – in this case, the Roomba Robot Vacuum that the complainant’s teenage son had bought for her. She was unaware that he had turned it on and mistook the bumping around the kitchen as an intruder. The house was clear and the renegade Roomba was released to the complainant.

NGET Officers located stolen firearm on gang member

North Gang Enforcement Team (NGET) Officers Mills and Maclean observed several subjects congregating at apartments at the 2400 block of Seamist Drive on Friday, March 19. One of the subjects was recognized as a street gang affiliate. As officers approached to contact the group the subject took off running. Officers pursued the subject who was carrying a satchel which he tossed while running. The subject was chased down and taken into custody without incident. Officers recovered the satchel and inside was a stolen firearm.

Brandishing leads to arrest – 5100 block of Isador Lane

Patrol officers initially responded to the 5100 block of Isador Ln regarding a call for service of a subject brandishing a firearm. Upon further investigation, patrol officers proceeded to freeze the residence. The North-POP Team responded and authored a search warrant into the residence. The search warrant resulted in the following seizures: 4 handguns (one stolen), 1 shotgun, 1 rifle (.22), 46 lbs. processed marijuana (+ sales indicia), $147,815 cash (located hidden throughout the residence). One an and one woman were taken into custody for narcotic and weapons violations.

Marijuana Seizure – 5300 block of Knotty Pine Way

Based upon a community complaint, and subsequent investigation, officers wrote a search warrant into the above location. With the assistance of NGET, officers performed a surround and call out. In all, 13 males exited and were detained without incident. When asked, no one claimed to live at the location. Instead, 10 of the subjects had flown in from Texas and the other three had driven in from the bay area. A search of the location located over 250 lbs. of processed marijuana. This marijuana was in various stages of being packaged for distribution. Based upon what was located, all 13 males were placed under arrest for 11359 H+S, 11360 H+S, 11366 H+S and 182 PC. A search of the residence, vehicles and subjects also located just over $98,000 cash. Three subjects were found to have felony extraditable warrants out of Texas. One of these warrants was found to be for homicide. Another subject from the bay area was on active Parole and a 3056 PC hold was granted. He stated that he had no idea who actually lived at the location as no one would ever open the door.

Natomas Area Mail Theft Case — You May be a Victim

On March 9, Sacramento Police officers responded to a report by an alert community member and contacted a suspicious vehicle at River Plaza and Coconut Way in Natomas. During the investigation, officers discovered over 50lbs of stolen mail in the car. The suspect was arrested on charges including mail theft, possession of burglary tools, and possession of stolen property. The suspect was identified as 37-year-old Matthew Garidel. Garidel was booked at the Sacramento County Jail and released.

Officers responded to a report of theft. Multiple suspects were reported to be stealing materials from a construction site. Officers located the described suspects and they were cited for theft-related charges.

Officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle. Two suspects attempted to steal a vehicle but were interrupted by police arrival on scene. Both suspects were arrested for charges related to vehicle theft.

21-037390 (Robbery – Arrest): 1600 Block of W El Camino Ave at 2159 hours.
Officers responded to a report of a robbery. The suspect and victim were in an argument, leading the suspect to forcibly steal personal property from the victim. The victim sustained minor injury. The suspect was located on scene and arrested for robbery.

21-032681 (Death Investigation): 5300 Block of Dunlay Dr at 0037 hours.
Just after 12:30 a.m., officers responded to the 5300 block of Dunlay Drive for a report of an adult male who had sustained a life-threatening injury. Officers attempted life-saving measures and Sacramento Fire Department personnel arrived. Despite these efforts the male succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased by fire personnel on scene. Detectives and the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office responded to investigate the circumstances regarding the death. The investigation is still active.

Officers responded to a report of a burglary. The victim stated their residence was burglarized and personal property was missing. A crime report was generated.

Officers responded to the area for a report of sideshow activity. There were approximately 20 vehicles in the area. No reckless driving was observed and officers maintained presence in the area until the vehicles dispersed.

The suspect vehicle was involved in a collision and the driver was safely detained. There were no injuries as a result of the collision. The driver was found to have an active warrant and was arrested for the warrant and pursuit-related charges.

21-028315 (Shots Fired – Investigation): 3100 Block of Staysail St at 1318 hours.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting in which two vehicles were described to be shooting at each other. Evidence of a shooting was located however all involved parties fled the scene. Later, one male adult victim self-transported to an area hospital with at least one non-life-threatening gunshot wound. A crime report was generated.
